The short version
- There is no account. Scriptly never asks for your name, email, or phone number, and we have no way to work out who you are.
- Your handwritten notes stay on your device. They are never sent to us — we have no server that could hold them.
- No analytics, no ads, no tracking SDKs of any kind.
- iCloud sync is optional and off unless you use it. On iPad it copies your notes to your own private iCloud container, which we cannot see or reach.
- We never sell or share your data. We don't have any to sell.
1. What we collect
Nothing. Scriptly has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not build a profile of you, and we have nothing to sell.
2. What stays on your device
- Your handwritten notes. Every stroke you draw is stored in Scriptly's private storage on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.
- Your settings — theme, page colour, paper style, margin side, pen colours and sizes, and the passage you last read.
- Downloaded Bible text, kept so chapters open instantly and work offline.
Deleting Scriptly deletes the local copy. We cannot recover your notes — we never have them.
3. iCloud sync (iPad, optional)
On iPad you may turn on iCloud sync, which copies your notes into your own private iCloud Drive container so your iPads share them. That is between you and Apple: the notes go to your iCloud account, governed by Apple's privacy policy, and we can neither see nor reach them.
Sync is off unless you use it, and you can see the files yourself in Files → iCloud Drive → Scriptly. If you use it, your own copy remains in your iCloud Drive until you delete it there. On Android, notes stay on the device only.
4. What leaves your device
Scriptly makes network requests for three things, and no others:

Which passage and translation you asked for. It does not carry your name, your notes, or any identifier for you or your device. Our server keeps ordinary web-server logs, including the IP address the request came from, solely to keep the service running and to limit abuse. These are not used to identify you and are not combined with anything else. |

Scriptly never sends:
- Your handwritten notes, to anyone but your own iCloud, and only if you switch sync on
- Your name, email, phone number, or contacts — it never asks for them
- Your location
- An advertising identifier, or anything to an advertiser, data broker, or analytics provider
5. Children
Scriptly collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
6. Bible text
Scripture is supplied by the publishers and licensors named in the app, and each translation's copyright notice is shown with its text. Original-language texts and lexicons come from STEPBible (Tyndale House, Cambridge), CC BY 4.0.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
